Paper Planes, Real Weather

Joy Bhan — Writing & Poetry

Paper Planes,
Real Weather

Verse written without a plan, stories that took a little longer to admit what they were about, and a rap alter ego who won't stay quiet.

About

Hi, I'm Joy, a consultant based in NYC. While my education and background has led me down a path of biotechnology and consulting, my deep-rooted appreciation for writing, music, movies and literary mediums keeps my true passions in the artistic world.

This is where that other half lives — poems drafted in one sitting, and a collection of short stories still being added to.

I.Thoughtless Thoughts

Poems
Thoughts for Thoughtless People

Some things to make you wonder if there is even anything out there to
wonder about. Bad though, since you just wondered. Can I ask what you
wondered about? Maybe about how it's so crazy to wonder about things?
Wonder is a weird word, encompasses something you think about but could
also be amazement and spectacle. Too bad I'm thoughtless, so I'm
wonderless, but there is wanderlust. Ok.

The Resurgence of the writers, or losers, or both, or neither?

Out here it's midnight

But it's gotta be 5 somewhere else

Ready to see me come alive

Start pulling down whatever's on that shelf

My demons they don't hide

My mom she was surprised

When I went out into the night

There was no news that I died

But hey, if there's one thing I'm not it's a contraction

Get out with that can't shit, we can like we've always been.

I'm here chilling in the deli, slicing up my foes

One door opens and like 5 others closed

Smoking in the twilight, collective thoughts on my mind

Sunflowers in my soul, but out here tryna commit some crimes

No I don't need to remind, you don't need to get silly

Who cares what happens, I mean god will reprimand me

Or maybe the devil, like I subscribe to his lettuce

Fuckin world's got too much pride and not enough prejudice

City's hit its limits, and mine are just beginning

You miss the collective? Don't worry this year we'll be giving

Like that tree let me hug you and sing some rhymes

Kick flip, hatchback, got me thinking all out attack

My face is up here so maybe stop fucking me in the ass
